5:03 a.m. - Hermiston fire responded to a fire alarm at Viewcrest Apartments. On response, an activated smoke detector was found in a dumpster. Crews removed the batteries.
7:08 a.m. - A 9-1-1 caller with Central Machinery Sales Inc., 78112 Highway 207, Hermiston, reported someone broke into the business, smashed a knife case and took merchandise.
7:26 a.m. - The driver’s side window was broken out of a car on East Ridgeway Avenue in Hermiston but the resident was unsure if anything was missing.
8:16 a.m. - Across town, the padlock to the front gate of a warehouse on Feedville Road was cut, but the manager reporting nothing missing.
8:42 a.m. - A mother reported her step-daughter was a car thief. The woman said she rented a car on March 18 from Hertz Rent A Car, 80515 Highway 395, Hermiston, to take a trip to California with her daughter and 29-year-old step-daughter. But somewhere between Medford and Redding, California, she said, the step-daughter took the car and ditched her. She said she did not remember the name of the town she was in.
12:13 p.m. - Hermiston neighbors on Cooney Lane had a dispute over water rights, and one man threatened to shoot the other.
12:22 p.m. - A resident of South Highway 395 in Hermiston reported the man living across the hall leaves his door open and walks around naked.
12:36 p.m. - A woman on B Street, Umatilla reported she came home and found a hole in her back door and someone had broken into the house.
5:05 p.m. - A Hermiston resident reported a juvenile babysitter stole several items from the home on March 5. Some items have been returned, others have not.
5:35 p.m. - A window was shot out of a building on Northeast Fourth Street.
6:43 p.m. - A backpack was stolen from the locker room at Hermiston High School during track practice.
7:59 p.m. - Law enforcement and medical teams responded to a report of a car vs. bicycle accident in Hermiston.

12:20 a.m. - A larger fellow refused to leave the Riverside Sports Bar & Lounge, 1501 Sixth St., Umatilla, after staff cut him off from drinking. An employee called police when the 6-foot-1-inch, 230-pound man “threatened to throw bullets.”
7:52 a.m. - A woman leaving Two Rivers Correctional Institution, Umatilla, reported a male drove up to her in a tan truck, said he looked at her for a while and wanted to tell her stuff regarding her husband. The man also said he knew she used to work at a nursing home. She asked for a Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy to call her.
2:20 p.m. - A car drove into the water at Umatilla Marina RV Park, 1710 Quincy Ave., Umatilla, and a man escaped the car and laid on the bank of the river.
2:55 p.m. - Hermiston fire responded to an alarm at FEDEX Freight in Hermsiton. A fire pump was running in the pump house, but no fire was located. Firefighters assisted staff with contacting someone who could fix the fire pump and reset the alarm.
3:22 p.m. - A resident of East Gladys Avenue in Hermiston reported her purse was stolen from her house while she was sleeping.
3:55 p.m. - Hermiston dispatch received a call from a woman saying “the cat is dead,” when a man got on the phone and said the “baby is dead.” A female voice then said everything was fine.
5:18 p.m. - A Hermiston resident reported $723.15 was taken from her apartment.
7:17 p.m. - A two-vehicle accident blocked one lane of travel at the intersection of Diagonal Road and Burruss Lane in Hermiston. One vehicle caught fire but was extinguished by bystanders.

12:19 a.m. - Two people cut the hydraulic lines to the steering pump on a 1973 Dodge pickup belonging to a woman on Diagonal Road, Hermiston. She said the culprits left in a black 1999 Honda Civic toward Diagonal Road. She also gave a tentative identification of one suspect.
5:08 a.m. - A woman told Umatilla police she drank too much last night at the Crossroads Truck Stop, 2020 Highway 730 Umatilla, got a ride to a hotel and now cannot find her vehicle and wanted to report someone stole it.
10:42 a.m. - Traner’s Plumbing & Heating, 80611 Highway 395, Hermiston, was the target of a burglary, and the culprits made off with cash and a computer.
10:53 a.m. - A thief stole a man’s red and burgundy F350 pickup at Space Age Fuel, 77522 Highway 207, Hermiston. The owner reported leaving the keys in the pickup, along with two rifles, a cellphone and hay in the bed.
1:35 p.m. - Burglars also hit Ray’s Eastgate Auto, 1264 N. Columbia St., Milton-Freewater, though the person with the business did not know when the crime occurred but reported cushions were missing from an RV.
:35 p.m. - Law enforcement received a request to trespass a woman who sells tamales, candies and socket/wrench sets from Punkin Center Mobile Home Park, 32314 E. Punkin Center Road, Hermiston.
6:36 p.m. - If you see a piglet in Irrigon, please call the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office because it could belong to a 4-H member.
7:17 p.m. - Responded to a one vehicle MVC into a power pole with reports of two occupants inside the vehicle. Arrived to find one vehicle off the road all occupants had self extricated and were standing next to the road. The vehicle was noted to have a power pole on top of the front and cab of the vehicle with several electrical wires broken in the area. There were no further occupants noted in the vehicle at this time. Law enforcement on scene shut down the road to control traffic. HFES maintained a safety zone around all downed power lines. UEC was alerted to the downed wires and broken pole number 33600. Scene safety was maintained until UEC arrival then all units cleared leaving the scene under the control of LE.
8:52 p.m. - A single vehicle crashed into a guard rail in Hermiston. One patient was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
9:04 p.m. - A Richland, Wash., resident reported his estranged wife, who lives in Hermiston, stole his handgun and other items.
11:55 p.m. - A false alarm took firefighters to a local care home where a water alarm was malfunctioning.

11:53 a.m. - A dumpster caught fire in a vacant lot next to the Guardian Angel Homes facility that is under construction in Hermiston.
5:13 p.m. - Someone broke into the Hermiston apartment of a man who recently passed away at the hospital.
6:36 p.m. — A 10-year-old, her aunt and uncle were stuck behind a locked gate at Agape House.
8:35 p.m. - A semi broke down across Highway 207 at the interchange with Interstate 84. While a Honda Insight was stopped for the semi, a lifted dodge pickup read-ended the Honda, sending two passengers to the hospital. Both drivers stated they were fine and requested no medical attention.

1:23 a.m. - A resident of Rio Senda Drive, Umatilla, reported a neighbor was trespassing on her property, climbed the fence and fell out of the tree onto his property. The trespasser lives behind the caller on El Monte St. The caller requesting phone contact from a Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy.
8:32 a.m. - A Hermiston resident reported someone stole his cousin’s van, slashed a tire on another vehicle and left sometime during the night.
9:19 a.m. - A van and RV parked at Northwest Geer Road, Hermiston, were broken into.
9:42 a.m. - An employee of Ashley Manor reported a former employee spray painting a sign on his truck outside the building.
12:23 p.m. - Windows were shattered on a pickup parked on Southeast Eighth Place in Hermiston.
1:29 p.m. - The Boardman Fire Department and Oregon State Police responded to the report of a vehicle that came off a trailer and rolled in the median. There were no reported injuries.
3:38 p.m. - Umatilla police investigated a report of someone trying to give drugs to a student walking home from school.
4:54 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at the Darcy Coil Memorial Building at Cutsforth Park near Heppner.
6:32 p.m. - Ten people were reported fighting at Panda Inn in Hermiston.
6:41 p.m. - A Hermiston resident reported two men were trying to sell meat out of a pickup and did not have a solicitor’s license.
7:06 p.m. - A woman walked into the Hermiston Police Station to report she thinks she is being stalked by a white Dodge pickup.
9:06 p.m. - An employee of Crossroads Truck Stop, Umatilla, reported an altercation with a man in the lounge. He said the man and his friends are not from the area but come to the lounge frequently, and they are rude to the female customers. He requested the men be banned from the lounge.

10:16 a.m. - A Hermiston resident reported his son stole a credit card out of his wife’s purse and used it.
8:35 — Truck drivers hauling waste onion product on East Walls Road, Hermiston, are not tarping their trailers, a caller stated, adding this is an ongoing problem.
3:15 p.m. - An Irrigon father reported someone in a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo followed his daughter from high school to home and turned around and left.
3:36 p.m. - A concerned resident reported two males were fighting with a dog inside a van parked at Banner Bank in Hermiston. The dog was kicked out of the van.
3:46 p.m. - Concerned Hermiston residents reported a group of people wearing safety glasses and safety vests with “STATE” on the back were taking photos of houses.
5 p.m. - A man reported he saw two wolves in the morning in the area of Bartley Road, Stanfield.
6:36 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an Irrigon man that a neighbor said was “out of control again.” The caller said the man walked around outside with a baseball bat a couple of hours earlier, fearful someone was trying to get him, but now he was inside his residence and was not causing a problem.
11:44 p.m. - Hermiston Fire responded to a large natural cover fire east of the Graig Road and Highway 730 interchange. The fire was extinguished.
Arrests, Citations
Hermiston police arrested Peyton Floyd Hobbs, 23, and charged him with first-degree burglary, second-degree theft, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
Morrow County Sheriff’s Office arrested Todd Emery Nealey, 41, no address provided, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
Hermiston police arrested Evgenii A. Frolov, 37, of Gervais, for DUII, driving while suspended and on a state hold.
Morrow County Sheriff’s Office arrested Felix Alvarez Rios, 26, no address provided, for duii and first-degree possession of a forged instrument. The sheriff’s office also cited him for failure to drive in a lane, driving without a license and driving uninsured.
Hermiston police arrested Roberto Carlos Suarez, 21, no address provided, for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, attempt to elude police, and possession of methamphetamine.
•Oregon State Police cited Gerardo Sosa-Diaz, 29, of Pendleton, for DUII (controlled substances) and refusal to take a test for intoxicants.
Hermiston police arrested Tanisha Monique Lashay Williams, 26, of Hermiston, for possession of methamphetamine, violating probation and failure to pay fines.
•Oregon State Police arrested David Tapia Madrigal, 31, no address provided, for DUII.
Hermiston police arrested Shane Verhey Springer, 27, of Hermiston, for possession of methamphetamine and on two warrants for failure to appear.
•Hermiston police arrested Tosha Renee McLeod, 46, of Hermiston, for possession of methamphetamine and on a warrant for failure to appear.
•Oregon State Police arrested Christopher Allen Cooley, 33, of Hermiston, for trespassing and possession of methamphetamine.
